Why teams switch

Three reasons teams pick a PandaDoc alternative

No proposal editor before the signature, identity checks and payments from the first paid plan, an API on the €29 Business plan.

Signing without the proposal suite

PandaDoc is built around proposals, quotes and CPQ for sales teams; signing is the last step of that flow. If your documents arrive finished, the editor is weight carried for nothing. Chaindoc takes the PDF you have, adds signature fields, identity check and payment step, and stops there.

Identity check and payment on the first paid plan

PandaDoc puts ID verification and payments on Business, $49/seat/mo billed annually or $65/seat/mo billed monthly (pricing page, 2026-09-20). Chaindoc includes a Sumsub identity check on every paid plan, one a month on Personal at €9 billed monthly, five on Team, ten on Business, plus Stripe payment.

An API on the €29 Business plan

PandaDoc sells its API apart from the seat plans, on its own developer price list. Chaindoc's REST API and webhooks come with the Business plan at €29 a month billed monthly, and the key is created in the app.

How they differ

Where PandaDoc and Chaindoc differ

PandaDoc: its public pricing page, read 2026-09-20, lists prices in US dollars per seat. Chaindoc: its published plans, read the same day, in euros.

PandaDoc is a proposal suite: proposals, quotes and CPQ for sales teams, where signing comes last. Its pricing page (2026-09-20) lists Free at $0 with 60 documents a year, Starter at $19/seat/mo billed annually or $35/seat/mo billed monthly, and Business at $49/seat/mo or $65/seat/mo on the same cycles; the page shows no seat minimum. A team whose documents start as quotes is well served; a team that only signs pays for an editor it never opens.

Payments and ID verification are Business features at PandaDoc, $49/seat/mo billed annually or $65/seat/mo billed monthly; the API is sold separately. From Business, PandaDoc's payments are native to the product, which counts in its favour. Chaindoc includes a Sumsub identity check on every paid plan, one a month on Personal (€9), five on Team (€19), ten on Business (€29), all billed monthly, with Stripe invoices or escrow on the same plans and API keys on Business.

Every document Chaindoc completes leaves a SHA-256 hash on the SKALE network, a public chain: one transaction at publication, one when the final signature lands, beside a hash-chained event log. The verification report carries that hash and the transaction link, so a counterparty holding the file can hash their own copy and compare the two on the public explorer without asking Chaindoc. How much that counts in a dispute is for the court. PandaDoc's plans list no blockchain anchoring.

eIDAS Article 25 says an electronic signature cannot be denied legal effect solely for being electronic. Article 26 defines the advanced signature, AES: linked to one signer, able to identify them, under the signer's sole control, and showing any later change. Chaindoc delivers AES and is not a qualified trust service provider, so a contract a statute reserves for a qualified signature (QES) needs a QTSP. Where PandaDoc's signatures sit is for its own compliance pages to say; we read its pricing only.

Pricing

What you'd pay at 5, 15 and 50 signatures per month

Chaindoc's figures are its public plans in euros, billed monthly; yearly billing is 20% less. PandaDoc's are from its official pricing page, checked 2026-09-20, in US dollars per seat, with the billing cycle named in each row.

5 signatures/mo (single user)

Chaindoc: Free plan, €0. PandaDoc Free: $0, up to 60 documents a year.

A tie on price. PandaDoc's page (2026-09-20) lists identity verification from Business; Chaindoc's Free plan has none either.

15 signatures/mo (single user)

Chaindoc: Personal, €9/mo, one KYC check included. PandaDoc Starter: $19/seat/mo billed annually, $35/seat/mo billed monthly.

PandaDoc's pricing page (2026-09-20) lists no identity verification and no payment collection on Starter; both start on Business.

50 signatures/mo (team of 3)

Chaindoc: Team, €19/mo plus €19 for each extra member — €57/mo for three billed monthly, five KYC checks included. PandaDoc Business: $65/seat × 3 = $195/mo billed monthly.

Business is the PandaDoc tier with ID verification and payments; billed annually it is $49/seat/mo. Its REST API is sold separately; Chaindoc's comes with Business at €29/mo billed monthly.

Migration

From PandaDoc to Chaindoc in four steps

Export the templates you still send, rebuild their fields, bring the team and Stripe across, then close PandaDoc.

  1. Export your PandaDoc templates as PDFs

Download each template you still send from PandaDoc as a PDF. Skip the ones nobody has used this year.

  2. Rebuild them in Chaindoc

Upload the PDFs, put the signature, date and text fields back where they were, and save each one as a Chaindoc template.

  3. Invite the team and connect Stripe

Add members from the Team tab with a role each (Owner, Admin, Member or Accounter); extra members are €19 a month. Link Stripe if contracts should carry an invoice or escrow.

  4. Downgrade or cancel PandaDoc when ready

Before you downgrade or cancel, pull the signed documents and completion records out of PandaDoc and file them with your contracts.

FAQ

What people ask before moving off PandaDoc

Asked before and during a move from PandaDoc. Anything not here goes to the support page.

Yes. PandaDoc's pricing page, read 2026-09-20, lists a Free plan at $0 with 60 documents a year. The same page lists identity verification and payments from Business upward, not on Free.

Chaindoc's Free plan is also permanent and needs no card: 5 signatures a month for one user, 100 MB of storage. Identity checks begin on Personal at €9 a month.

PandaDoc's pricing page (2026-09-20) lists Starter at $19/seat/mo billed annually or $35/seat/mo billed monthly, and Business at $49/seat/mo billed annually or $65/seat/mo billed monthly; priced per seat, no seat minimum shown.

Payments and ID verification come with Business; the API is sold separately. Chaindoc, billed monthly: Free €0, Personal €9, Team €19 plus €19 per extra member, Business €29 with API access; yearly billing is 20% less.

Electronic signatures are valid across the EU: under eIDAS none may be refused legal effect only for being electronic (Article 25). Which level PandaDoc's signatures reach is on its own compliance pages; this page read its prices (2026-09-20), not its legal documents.

Chaindoc delivers the advanced level, AES, defined in Article 26 and described above. It is not a qualified trust service provider, so where a statute demands a qualified signature (QES) you need a QTSP.

Chaindoc fits when the document arrives finished and needs a signature, an identity check or a payment, not an editor: a Sumsub check on paid plans from €9 a month, a Stripe invoice or escrow at signing, a hash on a public chain, an API at €29.

PandaDoc is the better fit when your documents begin as proposals or quotes: it has a proposals and CPQ workflow Chaindoc does not have, and its payments are native from Business ($65/seat/mo billed monthly, $49/seat/mo billed annually). Its Free plan is real too: $0 for 60 documents a year, against Chaindoc's 5 signatures a month.

Chaindoc is the trading name of Miraspaces OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 17111689. It holds ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certificates and issues eIDAS-compliant advanced electronic signatures (AES).

Register entry, address and board are on the legal notice; the two ISO badges in the trust section above open their IAF CertSearch records.
